FAQs

If I am sick and can't travel, what do I do?

If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or have tested positive for the virus, do not come to the resort. Please call us at 304-787-3221 for assistance in changing your plans.

How can I avoid people on the mountain, if I am worried about crowds?

We recommend mid-week skiing if you are able. With more people having flexibility due to remote work and school, this may be an option for your trip this year. Mid-week tends to be less crowded than weekends and holiday periods. We do not expect to have as many capacity issues during non-holiday weekdays.

How will lift lines follow physical distancing requirements?

Physical distancing naturally occurs from tip to tail when wearing skis and snowboards. Additional distancing measures, including extended mazes and lateral space to create a consistent flow of appropriately spaced lines.

Will I have to ride the lift with people I don't know?

Guests in traveling parties will self-group. Lift attendants will work to put parties together on lifts, but unaffilliated skiers or riders may be loaded on the same chair, and chairlift capacity will be limited to provide additional physical spacing between seats. Snowmaking:

The process begins at our pump house, which draws water from our lake. All that cold water is pumped through hundreds of feet of snowmaking pipe, straight to our snow guns. As the water arrives at the gun, it is pushed through small nozzles on the ends of the barrel of the gun, and blown into the air to freeze by high powered fans. This produces large piles, or whales of snow on the ground. To make snow, the air temperature needs to be 28 or colder, but may vary based on the humidity.
